Power outages reported as winds gust in region

Less than 300 AES-Ohio customers are without power as windy conditions hit the Miami Valley this evening.

Outages were reported in the Bellbrook, Harrison Twp., Gratis, Urbana and New Lebanon areas throughout the afternoon, according to the company’s outage map.

Darke: 10

Miami: 4

Montgomery: 138

Greene: 18

Preble: 107

The outages come as winds are forecasted to gust up to 35-40 mph.

There have been several reports of trees falling in parts of the Miami Valley, including on Little Sugarcreek Road near Feedwire Road in Sugarcreek Twp. around 12 p.m.

There was also a report of a tree down in the area of state Route 725 and Penewit Road in Sugarcreek Twp. around 12:30 p.m.
