His fiance, Amanda Hinze, also was indicted on involuntary manslaughter for Takoda’s death
The third suspect, Jennifer Ebert, pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and other charges on May 27. No further details on Ebert’s plea were immediately available due to it being under a court ordered seal, Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said. Her sentencing date has not been set.

Dayton police and medics responded to a Kensington Drive home on Dec. 13 home after McLean reported that his 10-year-old son, Takoda Collins, was unresponsive.
Collins was taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The child had bruises and cuts all over his body, according to court documents.
“Takoda was kept in a dirty, locked, dark attic and abused daily over the course of several years,” read an affidavit and statement of facts. “The interviews also revealed that Takoda was held underwater and gasping for breath prior to succumbing to his injuries.”
McLean was indicted for rape of a child younger than 13 by force, two counts of felonious assault and four counts of endangering children on Dec. 23. Hinze was indicted on four counts of endangering children Dec. 27.
“These defendants tortured, both mentally and physically, this child for years. No child should ever have to live in daily fear of abuse by the hands that are supposed to care for them. The monstrous behavior of McLean and Hinze, and the hellish nightmare they created for Takoda Collins will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the law,” a release from the office of Prosecutor Mat Heck read.
The defendants are currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail and will be arraigned July 8 at 2 p.m. before Judge Adkins.
