BEAVERCREEK — The Greene County prosecutor is asking for the public’s help to find out what the driver in a deadly wrong-way crash was doing prior to the crash on Interstate 675.
“I would like to reach out to the public. To anyone who might be familiar with the activities of Ronald Myer on June 21 before this crash,” said Greene County Prosecutor Stephen K. Haller.

Investigators suspect alcohol was a factor on the part of Myer, who police said was driving the wrong way June 21 in a 2004 Jaguar X Type from I-675 North to state Route 844 when he smashed into a 2002 Acura sedan driven by Wright State student Paige Patrick, said Beavercreek police Capt. Jeff Fiorita.
Patrick, 23, of Vandalia, died that night.
“We want to find out how much alcohol is involved,” Haller said.
People who contacted News Center 7 said Myer was at a party prior to the crash.
“That’s one of the reasons I’m asking for help from the public. We suspect that that’s true,” Haller said. “We suspect that there were a lot of people at this party and we hope that they’ll contact us.”
Myer, who police said caused the crash, is not in jail and there are no formal charges.
Police said they have video that shows the 53-year-old Wright-Patterson Air Force Base civilian employee going the wrong way on the Ohio 844 ramp from I-675 shortly before the crash.
Haller said the case eventually will be presented to a grand jury after additional information is gathered, including urine and blood tests and an autopsy.
Anyone who has information is urged to call Beavercreek detective Brad Piasecki at 937-427-5520 or investigator Fred Meadows of the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office at 937-562-5250.
