YELLOW SPRINGS — A group of protesters in Yellow Springs took part in the National Day of Action to stop anti-Asian hate on Saturday.
A dozen or so protestors gathered on the corner of Xenia Avenue and Limestone Street to stand in solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community. The event was in response to the shooting at a massage business in Atlanta, GA where eight people were killed, including six Asian women.
The National Day of Action was organized by the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition.
“As working people we all have to stand united, regardless of our race, against all forms of racism,” Jordan Miller, of the Miami Valley Chapter of the Party for Socialism and Liberation said.
Those in attendance held signs with slogans like “Racism is a Pandemic.”
Yellow Springs was just one of the dozens of demonstrations across the country calling to “Stop Anti-Asian Violence, Stop China-Bashing.”
