DAYTON — For the first time in Sinclair College history, 75 college credit-plus (CCP) students have graduated from the program while still in high school.

Last Wednesday, students were recognized during a special graduation ceremony at Sinclairs’s downtown Dayton campus.

CCP gives high school students the option to take college courses for free, and over 9,000 students enrolled in the program for the 2022-2023 school year.

The program offers multiple courses for high school students interested in the technical field of study that prepares them for in-demand jobs.

“I had a great academic experience throughout my entire CCP journey with Sinclair Community College,” said A’Niyah Johnson, a West Carrollton High School student and Sinclair Community College CCP 2023 Graduate. “I plan to attend Indian Tech University with the Guill scholarship that covers my entire tuition.”

Beavercreek High School and CCP Graduate Lily Culter says she has been able to use her degree to further her education and hopes those who earned their degree acknowledge their strength.

“What the CCP graduates have done requires a level of grit and determination that isn’t expected of individuals their age,” said Culter. “I hope that the graduates take a moment and allow themselves to be proud and acknowledge their strength and resiliency. As I now look towards graduating with my Master’s in a few weeks and beginning a Ph.D. program on the horizon, I remain steadfast in my immense gratitude for the opportunities the CCP program through Sinclair has afforded me.”
