Shackleford was convicted for attempted murder in the other shooting as well as was sentenced to at least 20 years in prison for that case.
Shackleford was on the run for several weeks after both shootings before U.S. Marshals arrested him on East Fairview Avenue in June.
Prior to his June arrest, police were engaged in a SWAT standoff May 12 at a house on South Euclid Avenue in Dayton where they believed Shackleford was staying. He was not found at the house.
Sentencing for the hotel shooting is set for March 25, according to police.
Shackleford has previous convictions for felonious assault, drugs and illegal possession of a gun that date back to at least 2009, according to court records.
