Reid Health is pausing all elective inpatient surgeries as COVID-19 cases surge.
Officials made the announcement Wednesday. The decision was approved by state health officials.

Emergent and urgent surgeries, as well as outpatient surgeries scheduled at Reid Outpatient Surgery & Endoscopy will continue.
The surgeon’s office will review all surgeries for urgency and will reach out to patients who will need to have their surgeries rescheduled.
Hospital officials said the move will allow clinical staff to be available for other inpatient needs.
