REPORT: Armed robber steals car and phone from Dayton man

DAYTON — A man reportedly held a Dayton man at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, stealing his vehicle and cellphone in the process, police say.

Police were dispatched at 4:47 a.m. to the 400 block of Walton Avenue on a robbery complaint. On scene, police met with the male victim who stated that after parking his car on Walton Avenue, a man approached him with a semi-automatic pistol and demanded his phone and car keys, according to the report.

The victim gave him his belongings, and ran to his sister’s house where he called the police. The suspect got in the 2006 black Hyundai Elantra and drove off, read the report.

The suspect is described as 18 to 22 years old and was last seen wearing a blue hat, blue jacket and blue jeans, according to the report.
