2 injured in Springfield motorcycle crash

SPRINGFIELD — UPDATE @ 3:55 p.m.:

Police are on scene, investigating a crash in Springfield.

Police and medics were called to respond to a crash in the area of Villa Road and Red Coach Drive just before 2:20 p.m.

The crash involved a motorcycle and another vehicle, according to Springfield Police dispatch records. Our crew on scene reported seeing an SUV involved.

Initial scanner traffic indicated that a medical helicopter was called to respond.

Crews on scene told News Center 7 that both the male driver and female passenger of the motorcycle were transported to an area hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

Crews shut down the roads near the crash while they investigated. It reopened at 5:30 p.m.
