Driver of car that struck a house and caught fire in Perry Twp. identified

UPDATE @ 4:45 p.m. (Jan. 26):

The driver who died Thursday night after a crash in Perry Twp. has been identified as Harli Michelle Masters, 22, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Masters was killed when her vehicle struck a house and caught fire on Johnsville Brookville Road.

A driver was killed Thursday night when their vehicle struck a house and caught fire on Johnsville Brookville Road, according to a release by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

“It just completely shook the house,” a 911 caller said. “My son just ran out with the fire extinguisher.”

Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the crash in the 3900 block just after 10 p.m.

An initial investigation revealed the Chrysler PT Cruiser was traveling south on Johnsville Brookville Road near Providence Road when the car went left of center and off the side of the road. The car flew through the air and struck a house before rolling over and catching fire.

The driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the release.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office was called to the crash site.

There is structural damage to the two-story house and part of its roof appears to be missing, per our crews at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
