Driver crashes SUV into creek near Eaton, walks quarter-mile to hospital for help

PREBLE COUNTY — A driver was able to get out of an SUV and walked to a nearby hospital for help after crashing into a creek near Eaton Thursday morning, according to state troopers.

The crash was reported in the area of Washington Jackson Road and Eaton Gettysburg Road, just west of the city of Eaton, around 10:10 a.m.

Investigators said the SUV crashed through a guardrail and ended up on its side in a creek. Factors that cause the crash were still under investigation, state troopers said.

The driver of the SUV was able to get out of the car and walked down the road, approximately a quarter-mile, to the Preble County Medical Center for help.

The condition of the driver was not immediately known.
