SPRINGFIELD — Two houses, a utility pole, and a fire hydrant were damaged in a single-vehicle crash in Springfield Wednesday afternoon.

The crash was reported in the 800 block of Oak Street in Springfield around 1 p.m.
The driver of the pickup truck, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital for evaluation, police said.
The crash knocked down all structural supports for a porch at one of the houses and the utility pole involved was sheared at its base.
A building inspector was requested to the scene to investigate the structural stability of the houses involved, according to initial reports.
