MIAMI VALLEY — Flooding along the Great Miami River and Little Miami River is expected to continue through parts of the Miami Valley into the evening as the region recovers from significant rainfall over the last week.

GREAT MIAMI RIVER

Flood warnings continue along the Great Miami River as sections of the rivers are cresting now and into the evening.

The river in Sidney was above its flood stage of 10 feet this morning, however it is expected to fall below flood stage into this afternoon.  The river will recede back into its banks on the west side of Custenborder Field.

Problems could continue near Rip Rap Road into the evening as the river will likely rise near 24 feet, which is two feet above flood stage.  It’s expected that the river will eventually fall below flood stage some time tonight.

In Middletown, the flood stage along the Great Miami is 12 feet and the river is continuing to rise, with it expected to rise near 13 feet by this evening.  The river in that area will not fall below flood stage until sometime Saturday morning.

LITTLE MIAMI RIVER

Flooding has been occurring along the Little Miami River in northeastern Warren and southwestern Greene counties, but the river level is slowly falling.

The flood warning for that portion of the river is in place until 2:15 p.m. Saturday.

The river is expected to fall below flood stage sometime tonight.
