SPRINGFIELD — Road closures remain in Clark County following Saturday’s train derailment in Springfield.

State Route 41 is still closed between Interstate 70 and Gateway Boulevard, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Traffic can still access Prime Ohio Industrial Park from the north.

The official detours are:

  • Northbound: I-70 west to State Route 72 north to State Route 41 north
  • Southbound: State Route 72 south to I-70 east to State Route 41 south

It will stay closed until “the railroad has completed emergency repairs at the crossing,” ODOT said.

Kraig Barner, general manager for Norfolk Southern, said it is estimated 12 hours of track work will need to be done after all the cars are cleared from the roadway, during a news conference Sunday.

The company is expected to get asphalt in on Tuesday, Barner said.
