MIDDLETOWN — New road signs honoring Vice President-elect J.D. Vance are coming to his hometown.

The City of Middletown will be installing the signs at the entrances to the city, a city spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.
The signs will read “Hometown of J.D. Vance, 50th Vice President of the United States of America” and are expected to be put up on Jan. 21, the day after Vance is sworn in.

Vance was born in Middletown in 1984 and was a 2003 graduate of Middletown High School.
The signs will be installed at the following seven locations:
- On eastbound Central Ave. at Carmody Blvd. (entering from Madison Township)
- On southbound Ohio 4 at Germantown Road (near the airport)
- On westbound Ohio 73 at the city limits (entering from Franklin)
- On westbound Ohio 122 near Bob Evans (coming from I-75)
- On northbound Ohio 4 at the south city limits near Lafayette Avenue
- On northbound S. Main Street at the city limits (coming from Oxford-State Rd.)
- Cincinnati-Dayton Road northbound at the south city limits (coming from Monroe)
A ribbon-cutting ceremony at one of the sign locations is expected to happen in the weeks following the inauguration.
