Two hospitalized in suspected OVI crash in Dayton identified

UPDATE @ 12:45 p.m.:

The driver and passenger who were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash early Tuesday morning on Pershing Boulevard have been identified as 32-year-old Joshua Lattimore and 33-year-old Stephanie Dill.

Lattimore, the driver and Dill, the passenger are currently at Miami Valley Hospital and their condition is not available at this time.

FIRST REPORT:

A driver and passenger are hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash, believed to be caused by impaired driving, occurred on Pershing Boulevard early Tuesday, police said.

Authorities and at least two medic units responded to the 2100 block near Puritan Place for a reported single-vehicle rollover crash around 1:30 a.m.

Police say the driver hit a tree, flipped, and hit a parked vehicle before ending up on its top.

Our crew on scene say the car that flipped was heavily damaged. The impact even caused a bird to fall out of the tree the driver struck, our crew was told.

The driver, who police say is suspected of drunk driving, was transported to a local hospital along with the passenger of the vehicle. Their names were not released.

A crash reconstruction team was called to the crash site.

The wreck has blocked both directions of Pershing Boulevard and the road is expected to be closed until further notice.
