SCAM ALERT: Strawberry Festival organizers issue warning about scammers selling tickets

TROY — Troy Strawberry Festival organizers have issued a warning about scammers trying to rip people off by selling tickets to this weekend’s event.

Event organizers posted a message on social media saying they’d been made aware of several fake posts about selling tickets to the festival.

“We have been made aware that there have been several fraudulent posts made about the Troy Strawberry Festival asking people to pay for tickets and giving the impression that vendors could still pay for booth spaces,” the post said.

Organizers said vendor registration has been closed since March, and the festival is free to attend.

The festival will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
