PREBLE COUNTY — A school bus was involved in a crash in Preble County on Friday afternoon.

The crash was reported shortly before 3 p.m. in the 3300 block of US 40 and involved a National Trail Local Schools bus.
The bus was stopped with its lights on to let students off and a white car stopped behind it. A black car came up behind them and hit the white car, causing it to hit the bus, according to Preble County Sheriff Mike Simpson.
No students were hurt during the crash.
Both drivers of the cars were transported to the hospital. One was taken to Reid Hospital and the other was flown to another area hospital.
As shown on News Center 7 at 5:00, National Trail’s superintendent, Jennifer Couch, was at the scene of the crash, which happened around two miles away from the school buildings.
“Very thankful for the community members, the parents, and the people that just stopped out of the goodness of your heart to check on everyone and to make sure that everybody was safe,” Couch said. “It’s much appreciated and it’s always reassuring when you live in a small county and you know everybody is here to help take care of everyone.”
