As reported on News Center 7 at 5, As people across Springfield dug out from the snowstorm, no district in Clark County had class on Monday.
“My nieces and nephews, they’re off, though, that’s for sure ... it’s a good day for them,” Lilly Fowler of Springfield said.
That included the Clark-Shawnee Local School District.
“The forecast, it just did not look like school was going to happen and the evidence today is it was the right call,” Brian Kuhn, superintendent at Clark-Shawnee said.
Kuhn said they always like to give their community as early a notice as possible when it comes to snow days.
He said factors they’ll consider when deciding whether to call school for Tuesday will be impacts of blowing and drifting snow, possible ice on the roads, temperatures, and the effectiveness of road salt.
Kuhn said the district will continue to monitor conditions and announce any closures as early as possible.
