Lucas Rosales went missing from Eastwood MetroPark when he was out fishing with his family.

While active, on-water search operations were suspended Monday, Dayton police and fire, Texas EquuSearch, and the City of Dayton Department of Water have remained in the area to search.
Crews have searched areas of the Mad River and the Great Miami River, including as far south as the City of West Carrolton, according to Dayton fire Capt. Brad French.

Water rescue team members were also operating in a portion of the Mad River Tuesday as part of a pre-scheduled training exercise, and continually scanned the water in that area for any signs of Lucas, French said.
French said the water flow in the Mad River has nearly doubled due to recent rains, but is expected to decrease in the coming days.

According to French, the decreasing water levels will provide the opportunity for the City of Dayton Department of Water to create a temporary dam on a portion of the Mad River to facilitate additional search.
“Dayton Police and Dayton Fire crews are expected to be on site downstream of the dammed area later this week as the water level decreases,” French said.
