Sedan crashes into Springfield home, damages utility poles, wires

SPRINGFIELD — A car crashed into a Springfield house and damaged utility poles as well as wires Saturday overnight.

Springfield Police, Fire, and EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Clifton and Indiana Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash with injuries, Springfield Dispatch stated over emergency scanners. The 911 caller also claimed that the car crashed into the house, Springfield Dispatch confirmed.

When officers arrived on scene, they confirmed that a silver sedan drove into a house near the intersection and damaged utility poles and wires along the way.

Medics were called to the scene after at least one person reported injuries. It is currently unknown who was injured in the crash or what their condition is.

Springfield Dispatch was unable to immediately confirm the information heard over emergency scanners due to technical difficulties.
