OSP: Semi driver suffers apparent medical issue in crash on I-75 North at Austin Landing

MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — UPDATE @ 7:18 p.m.: The driver of a semitrailer is believed to have suffered from a medical issue that led to his rig crashing just off I-75 North at the Austin Landing overpass in Miami Twp., the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The driver has been taken to Kettering Medical Center, where he was said to be in stable condition after suffering non-life threatening injuries, Patrol Sgt. Brad Hess said. The driver’s name and age were not released.

Wreckers have righted the rig and all northbound lanes of the interstate have been reopened.

INITIAL REPORT

A crash reported to involve a semi is blocking two lanes of I-75 at the Austin Landing overpass, according to emergency dispatch traffic.

The crash was reported around 5 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway.

Medics were called to the crash site, however its unclear if anyone is hurt.
