ROSSBURG, Darke County — Both drivers suffered minor injuries in a crash Thursday night in the 12,000 block of U.S. 127 in the village of Rossburg involving a heavy-duty work truck and a semi-tanker full of milk, the Darke County Sheriff’s Office said.

A green Chevy 3500 HD was headed north on U.S. 127 about 7:25 p.m. when the driver slowed to turn east onto Medford Road, according to the preliminary investigation.
The driver of a blue Kenworth semi-tanker hauling milk failed to notice the turning vehicle and tried to pass on the left, striking the front driver’s side of the Chevrolet.
Both vehicles ended up off the right side of the road, with the tanker overturned onto the driver’s side, spilling its milk cargo along with diesel fuel.
Both drivers were examined at the scene and treated for minor injuries. Both refused treatment and turned down a trip to a medical facility.
U.S. 127 is expected to remain closed for several hours while the scene is cleaned and cleared.
This accident marked the second rollover in the immediate area.
The sheriff’s office is attributing the crashes, in part, to the event commonly referred to as “The World’s Longest Yard Sale” taking place this weekend. The 690-mile route of the 2022 sale on U.S. 127 stretches from Addison, Michigan, through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia and ends in Gadsden, Alabama.
The yard sale, which began today, continues through Aug. 7.
