1 taken to hospital by CareFlight after semi crash on I-75 south near Sidney

UPDATE @ 6:40 p.m.:

At least one semi driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight Sunday night following the multi-vehicle crash on I-75 south near Sidney, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper said.

A semi was heading north on I-75 when it crossed over the center median and stuck another semi head-on in the southbound lanes.

The drivers of the three cars involved had minor injuries, but there’s no word on the conditions of the two semi drivers, OSP said.

FIRST REPORT:

A multi-vehicle crash has been reported on I-75 south at state Route 29 near Sidney.

The incident was reported around 2:45 p.m. and CareFlight has been requested, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash involves two semis and at least three vehicles.

Injuries were reported, but the extent is unknown at this time, OSP said.

I-75 south is currently closed and will be for several hours.
