UPDATE @ 6:20 p.m.: A car failed to yield the right of way on U.S. 36 West at U.S. 127 and drove into the path of a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon, sending both drivers to hospitals, the Darke County Sheriff's Office said.

Stephen Marshall, 64, of Greenville, who was aboard a Harley Davidson, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. His condition was not known at the time of this update.
Kimberly Green, 53, of Lynn, Indiana, who was driving a Ford Escape, was taken to Wayne Hospital suffering from minor injuries.
According to the preliminary investigation, Green drove into Marshall's path after leaving a stop sign. She was headed east on 36. Marshall was headed south on 127.
The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the accident.

UPDATE @ 5 p.m.:
U.S. 127 has reopened following a collision between a motorcycle and minivan.
The motorcyclist was alert and talking when he was flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. The minivan driver, a man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. None of the injuries are life-threatening, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
FIRST REPORT
A serious crash has been reported in the area of U.S. 127 and U.S. 36 west south of Greenville this afternoon.
The crash was reported around 4 p.m. and was reported to involve a car and a motorcycle. U.S. 127 was shut down in the area of the crash.

Initial emergency dispatch reports indicated someone had a serious head injury as a result of the crash.
A medical helicopter has been requested to the crash site.
