MIAMI TWP., Montgomery County — UPDATE @12:35 p.m. Nov. 25:
A 83-year-old woman injured in a crash on I-75 earlier this week that killed two people remains at Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol identified the injured woman as Mary B. Maxson, but hospital officials said the woman’s name is Elizabeth Maxson.
William T. Maxson, 84, and Ruth S. Neikirk, 74, both died in the crash.
FIRST REPORT Nov. 23:
Two people died in a Tuesday morning crash involving an Ohio Department of Transportation vehicle on I-75 north near the state Route 725 exit in Miami Twp.
The crash reported around 10:30 a.m. involved a pickup truck and the ODOT vehicle.

OSHP says the investigation into the crash revealed that William T. Maxson, 84, of Nicholasville, Kentucky, was driving northbound on I-75 when he struck the ODOT truck northbound on I-75.
The ODOT vehicle, driven by Jessica A. Brown, 55, of Dayton was hit as it was towing an arrow board flashing sign while following behind a street sweeper on the shoulder, state troopers said.
Maxson had two passengers in the vehicle, who OSHP identified as Ruth S. Neikirk, 74, of Lexington, Kentucky and Mary B. Maxson, 83, of Nicholasville, Kentucky.
William Maxson and Neikirk were pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash, according to OSHP.
Mary Maxson was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
Brown was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
OSHP says next of kin has been notified.
There were two dogs that were rescued from inside the pickup truck. Both were taken from the scene by animal control officers.
The ramp from state Route 725 to I-75 north was closed for several hours, but was reopened by 1:45 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
