West Manchester man ID’d as victim in deadly Preble County head-on crash

UPDATE @ 4:40 p.m.: A 66-year-old West Manchester man has been identified as the victim in the fatal head-on crash involving a semitrailer north of Eaton in Preble County.

Dennis Glander went left of center and struck a semitrailer that had stopped to turn left from U.S. 127 onto I-70 east, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

Alfred Firestone, 63, of Dayton, who was driving the semitrailer, was not injured.

UPDATE @ 2:10 p.m.: 

The driver of a pickup truck involved in a head-on crash on U.S. 127 in Preble County has died from their injuries, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported around 12:30 p.m. on U.S. 127 near Interstate 70.

An initial investigation found the pickup truck was traveling north on U.S. 127 when it crossed-over the center line and crashed head-on into a semitrailer, state troopers said.

The driver of the semitrailer was not injured in the crash.

Potential factors in the crash were still under investigation, state troopers said.

U.S. 127 is expected to be shut down in both directions until around 3 p.m.

The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of family.
