DAYTON — Two people are dead after a crash involving a car and semi in Dayton.

The crash was reported around 11 a.m. near the intersection of Germantown Pike and S. Gettysburg Avenue, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.
Dayton Police Sgt. Creigee Coleman told News Center 7 that witnesses on the scene said the driver was driving approximately 100 miles per hour and then possibly hit water, hydroplaned and hit the semi-truck.
When police got to the scene, they found one person in the vehicle and one person outside of the vehicle.
The two occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene, the Dayton Police Department said in an update Wednesday afternoon.
Neither the 32-year-old man driving nor the 28-year-old male passenger were wearing a seatbelt, police said.
The truck driver was taken to an area hospital with minor injuires.
