DAYTON — A Dayton man and father of four who was killed during a mass shooting in the Oregon District will be laid to rest today.

Thomas James McNichols Sr., 25, was described as a “gentle giant” and “like a bid kid” by his aunt.
He had two sons and two daughters, ranging in age from 2 to 8.

Funeral services will be today at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until noon, when the service begins. Burial will be in West Memory Gardens.
