XENIA — Students will see security upgrades as they return to class in Xenia.

As reported Tuesday on News Center 7 Daybreak, Xenia’s superintendent described those changes.
Gabe Lofton told News Center 7 that safety is always their top priority.
He said the main security upgrades were on the exterior walls of the building.
The high school added upgraded doors and windows, both feature stronger safety glass than before.
Lofton said they also added a visitor management system to better keep track of who is coming in and out of the building.
He added that there are even more security upgrades.
“We’ve totally done upgrades as it relates to our camera system and our security system, so students who come back to Xenia High School this fall,” said Lofton. “We’ll see a different, different school in so many ways,” said Lofton.
He added that students will also see new things coming to their media center. The district is renovating it.
