Several fire departments responded Wednesday morning to a brush fire on Elm Tree and East Social Row roads, according to Montgomery County Regional dispatch.
The fire was reported at 11:01 a.m. and several engines from Sugarcreek Township and Wayne Township responded.

A witness told News Center 7 that crews working to clear brush in the area found a bee hive and set it on fire, which then spread to the area.
“The initial information gathered at the scene indicates that this is what occurred, however the cause of the fire remains under investigation,” said Jackie Curl, Washington Township spokesperson.
