XENIA — A law enforcement investigation is underway after a shooting in Xenia Sunday morning.

At approximately 7:25 a.m., dispatchers received a complaint about a person who had been shooting a pistol in the area of Bellbrook Avenue, according to a spokesperson for the Xenia Police Division. The caller also reported that the person had pointed the pistol at the caller.
Xenia police responded to the area to investigate the complaint, and when they arrived on the scene they located the suspect outside of the apartment complex.

Shortly after officers arrived on the scene, shots were fired and the suspect was injured, the spokesperson said. The suspect was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment. Their current condition was not released.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was requested by Xenia police to investigate an officer-involved shooting, a spokesperson for BCI confirmed.
No officers were injured, the spokesperson said.
