Teenager killed in New Carlisle crash identified; 3 more teens in hospital

A 17-year-old from New Carlisle was killed Sunday evening after he was ejected from the car he was driving in a crash that injured three other teenagers.

Jason M. Whitt was driving a 2002 Saturn SL around 7:25 p.m. when the car went left of center, off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole on the passenger side in the 900 block of South Medway-Carlisle Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post.

The front passenger also was thrown from the vehicle and was taken to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek with non-life-threatening injuries.

The right rear passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

The final passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Troopers were assisted by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Bethel Twp. Fire and EMS and Fairborn EMS.

South Medway-Carlisle Road was closed for several hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene.
