Shawnee High School Threat: Caller threatened to shoot up the school

CLARK COUNTY — A male with a British accent called Shawnee High School to report he was coming to the school to shoot it up, prompting a lockdown of the district’s schools Wednesday afternoon, according to deputies.

An incident report obtained through a public records request shows officers responded to the high school at 12:50 p.m. after the threatening call was received by the school.

In the call to the school, the male threatened to use a double-barrel shotgun to shoot up the school.  Investigators have not identified the caller, but said they do have a potential lead on the source of the call.

The district cancelled all evening activities Wednesday after deputies started an investigation into the threat.

Deputies said the school resource officer alerted the sheriff’s office about the threat.
