MIDDLETOWN — UPDATE @ 4:01 p.m.:
A 16-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and participating in a criminal gang for the shooting death of Joseph Davis, according to police.
Middletown police said more arrests are expected for incidents leading up to the killing.
UPDATE @ 10 a.m.:
A 17-year-old was killed after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in a shooting Tuesday, according to Middletown Police Major Scott Reeve.
Joseph Davis, of Middletown, died in the shooting that happened at about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Avenue and Garfield Street, Reeve said.

A suspect is at the police station being questioned, but has not been charged, according to Reeve.
“We think this is an ongoing dispute with Joseph and his friends and another group of young men,” Reeve said.
He added that the groups are feuding over territory.
“There does seem to be some type of organization between the two groups,” Reeve said.
He said there also was a dispute last week in a local park between the two groups.

INITIAL REPORT:
Police are investigating a shooting that happened in Middletown late Tuesday night.
Just before midnight, police were dispatched to the area of Garfield Street and Woodlawn Avenue on reports of a subject found shot in the neck.
A witness reported seeing three people running from the scene, according to initial reports.
