The man who was fatally shot in Huber Heights on Sunday afternoon has been identified as Evan Lewis, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s office.

UPDATE @ 6:30 p.m.:
The Huber Heights Police Division is investigating the homicide of a 19-year-old male that occurred Sunday afternoon, according to a release.

It appears the incident took place over a large area and has multiple scenes, the release stated. Evidence crews and investigators will remain on scene to continue collecting evidence.
“Crews responded and found a victim who was critically injured, lying at the corner of Bellefontaine and Hilgeford with people tending to his injuries,” said Lt. William Dulaney of the Huber Heights Police Division.
One of those people was Stacy Davis who lives across the street.
“There was five gunshots and we witnessed the guy collapse in the yard,” Davis said.

Five other people ran over to help the victim by giving him CPR and wrapping his wounds.
“He was really pale, and I just kept talking to him ‘please keep breathing, please stay with us’,” Davis continued.
It’s not clear what led up to the shooting, but we are working to learn more.

One person has died after the shooting in Huber Heights Sunday afternoon.

Police found a male, whose identity has not been released, with at least one gunshot wound to the torso at the corner of Bellefontaine Road and Hilgeford Drive, according to Lt. William Dulaney of the Huber Heights Police Department.
People were tending to his injuries.
The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in critical condition but has since died, according to Dulaney.
The suspect was located and is in custody after witnesses provided a description.

The suspect, who was only identified as a male, is in custody. He was transported to a hospital after complaining of chest pain.
According to Dulaney, shots were fired at a residence in the area.
The incident is under investigation at this time.

Huber Heights police are on scene of a reported shooting.
Police were dispatched to the location of Bellefontaine Road and Hilgeford Drive around 2 p.m., according to dispatchers.
A large section of Hilgeford Drive is blocked off with police tape.
No further details were available.
