Shooting suspect detained, 3 children removed following hours-long SWAT incident in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI — Three children were taken from a Cincinnati home after SWAT teams used non-lethal grenades to extract a male shooting suspect Tuesday night.

Cincinnati Police and SWAT units were dispatched near the intersection of McPherson Avenue and Warsaw Avenue, in the East Price Hill neighborhood, shortly before 9 p.m. on reports of a shooting, WCPO reported.

As law enforcement agents initiated an investigation, they discovered that a man reportedly fired multiple gunshots outside a home in the residential neighborhood after entering into an altercation. The exact details about who the man was arguing with before firing his weapon was not disclosed by authorities.

Approximately two hours after agents responded to the scene, SWAT units used flash grenades before entering the home.

Three children were then escorted out of the home while authorities attempted to place the man in custody.

Police were able to successfully detain the shooting suspect.

No one was injured during the incident.

Furthermore, charges against the man were pending.

Cincinnati Police led the investigation into the shooting.
