CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Zoo welcomed a new addition late last week.
Lightning, a sloth at the zoo, gave birth, the zoo announced Friday.

“So far baby and mom seem to be doing well. They will remain behind the scenes to bond but we will share updates as we have them,” zoo officials shared on social media along with a video of Lightning and her baby.
Lightning was put on birth watch on June 1. That meant she was under 24-hour monitoring.
The zoo hasn’t announced the name for the little one at this time.
