NEW CARLISLE — No injuries were reported after a small plane crashed into a fence while trying to land at the Andy Barnhart Memorial Airport in New Carlisle Tuesday morning.

The plane was attempting to land at the airport on state Route 571 Tuesday when the plane lost traction on wet grass, witnesses told News Center 7.
The plane overturned and crashed into a fence. It was not known how many people were in the plane, however witnesses said no one was hurt in the incident.
A tow truck on the scene removed the plane from the fence around 10:30 a.m.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Federal Aviation Administration were made aware of the crash and will conduct an investigation, officials from both agencies told this news outlet. However it was not known if airport officials notified the investigating agencies of the crash prior to media reports.
