Snack food company gets $12.5M in tax credits to build local factory

MORAINE — New developments in a push to bring a snack food maker to Montgomery County.

Shearer’s Foods received $12.5 million in federal New Markets Tax Credits for their new facility in Moraine, according to a media release by CityWide Development Corporation.

News Center 7 previously reported that Shearer’s Foods has plans to move into the empty General Motors Plant off Stroop Road.

The development has been codenamed “Project Crispy” and is expected to cost more than $105 million and bring in 250 new full-time jobs.
