Son who police say shot, killed father formally charged

MIAMI COUNTY — A man who police say shot and killed his father has been formally charged.

Daniel Davis Jr., 22, has been indicted on multiple charges after police say he admitted to shooting and killing his father last week.

News Center 7 previously reported that Davis Jr. and his father 54-year-old Daniel Davis Sr. were having an argument inside a detached garage on their property along West Monroe-Concord Road in Union Township when Davis Jr. shot his father.

Davis Jr. confessed to shooting and killing his father twice, according to a previous News Center 7 report, once during a 911 call after the shooting and another time during an interview with police.

Davis Jr. was indicted on Wednesday, Jan. 8 on one count of Aggravated Murder, three counts of Murder, and two counts of Felonious Assault, according to court documents obtained by News Center 7.

His arraignment is scheduled for Jan. 13 at 9 a.m., according to the warrant filed with the court.

Davis Jr. is being held in Miami County Jail with a $3 million bond.
