Springboro park named in memory of Logan Turner, Oregon District Shooting victim

SPRINGBORO — A park in Springboro will be named after Logan Turner who was a victim of the Oregon District Shooting Aug. 4, 2019.

The grand opening began at 10 a.m. at Hazel Woods Park on West Lower Springboro Road.

The park will be known as Logan’s Bark Park and will serve as a way for the community to honor Turner’s life.

Logan’s Bark Park was originated by a second grade class at Five Points Elementary.

With the help of their teacher and Turner’s mother, the idea of Logan’s Bark Park was born after learning that Turner loved dogs.

The class typed proposal letters, submitted them to the city council and the council voted in favor of the idea Feb. 6.
