Springboro Schools raise over $2,000 for Warm Hugs Fund program

Warm Hugs Fund A 5th grade Springboro resident held a hot chocolate stand this month to raise money for Warm Hugs, a nonprofit program which distributes blankets to Hispanic children/families in need.

Springboro Schools raised $2,600 for a program that distributes blankets to Hispanic children and families in need, according to a release.

The non-profit Warm Hugs Fund program was founded by two Oakwood students, Cecille Figueroa Narváez and Dasha Peñas Johnson.

Springboro Schools worked to help raise money for the program by asking all staff and students to donate $1.00 in exchange for wearing pajamas to school, stated the release.

All proceeds will go towards the fund to purchase new blankets.

Last year, the schools raised over $3,200, bringing the total to nearly $6,000 in two years.
