SPRINGFIELD — Today, the Springfield Air National Guard Base will be promoting a new commander for its 178th Wing.
Col. Dominic Fago is scheduled to assume the responsibility of the commander of the 178th Wing from Col. Kimberly A. Fitzgerald.
The ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Springfield Air National Guard Base.

According to a release, Col. Kimberly A. Fitzgerald was the first female commander of the wing. Fitzgerald’s career spanned 28 years of service.
Fago has served in the Ohio National Guard for 36 years and is the first non-rated officer to take command in the State of Ohio.
