Springfield native, Elle Smith, finishes in Top 10 at Miss Universe pageant

A Shawnee High School graduate and Springfield native competed in the Miss Universe pageant Sunday, finishing in the Top 10.

23-year-old Elle Smith represented Kentucky in the the Miss USA pageant and competed against 51 other women to earn the title “Miss USA.”

While Smith did not advance to the Top Five, she did compete against 79 other delegates. Harnaaz Sandhu from India was crowned Miss Universe at the pageant held in Israel.

Smith works as a journalist in Louisville and received her bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Kentucky, according to our partners at WCPO Cincinnati.
