Man facing charges after co-worker stabbed, killed at Englewood factory

ENGLEWOOD — UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m.:

A man is facing charges after his co-worker was found stabbed to death at an Englewood factory.

News Center 7 previously reported that around 12:15 a.m. Sunday Englewood police and fire were called to Hematite, an auto parts manufacturing plant, to reports of a man who was not breathing.

A man called the emergency phone line and reported that there was “an employee down” in the break room’s restroom. He was found “unresponsive” with “bloodshot eyes” and “blood on his face,” the caller said. The victim was not breathing.

He was confirmed to be bleeding from his abdomen, specifically his right side, the caller informed.

The man, identified as Shaunn Monroe, 42, of Dayton was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Englewood Police Department.

The building was secured and placed on lockdown as officers and detectives looked through security footage and interviewed employees.

A fellow employee, Lytus Jordan III, 31, of Huber Heights was still on the scene and taken into custody.

Charges of murder and felonious assault were approved by the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office Monday.

Jordan’s case will now be sent to the Montgomery County Grand Jury.

Jordan is currently in the custody of the Montgomery County Jail.
