Police search for suspect after 2 stabbing victims found in Dayton home

Two male stabbing victims were taken to a local hospital Tuesday after police found them inside a Dayton house, Dayton Sgt. Creigee S. Coleman said.

Officers and medics were dispatched around 12:25 p.m. to the 80 block of Pointview Avenue in Dayton on reports of two people suffering from severe lacerations throughout the body.

One victim told police the two men came over to the house and the person inside began swinging a sharp object at the them and were stabbed before escaping.

A witness told our crew on scene that a landlord and maintenance man went to collect rent from a tenant when that tenant beat, stabbed and cut them.

The two victims were taken to a local hospital where one 80-year-old man is in serious condition and the other man is in stable condition.

Coleman said the possible suspect is a man driving a tan four-door Lincoln car.

“At this point in time, we are not sure of the location of that vehicle or that person, but we need the public’s help,” he said. “Anybody saw anything or witnessed anything in regards to the suspect leaving or the car he got in, please give the Dayton Police Department a call at 937-225-HELP.”

This incident remains under investigation by the homicide unit.
