The Ohio Department of Health Director has issued an order surrounding entertainment venues and the mandatory requirements for those venues to hold events.
The venues that are covered by the new order include: auditoriums, stadiums, arenas, concert and music halls, theaters, ballrooms, gymnasiums, convention centers, arcades, bingo halls, laser tag facilities and interactive game facilities hosting non-sports events. The order does not cover venues previously addressed as part of the director’s order issued on sporting events last week.

According to the order, the maximum number of people permitted to attend events at outdoor entertainment venues is 1,500 or 15 percent of the fixed, seating capacity. Indoor entertainment venues are limited to 300 people or 15 percent of the fixed seating capacity in which social distancing can be accomplished. The amount of people allowed in the venue includes spectators, game players, clients or other individuals.
The order also requires each venue to appoint an enforcement officer to ensure that the order is being followed.
Social distancing must be accomplished throughout the venue and parties will be limited to four people or members of a single household, according to the order.
Venues also will be responsible for coming up with plans to allow for physical distancing as people move from parking lots, box office lines, ticket scanning and security screenings.
Face coverings or masks will be required at venues, with exceptions given to those already listed in the previous mandatory mask order.
