Ellington, 76, was last seen after leaving her home around noon Monday, according to the Ohio Attorney General Office’s alert.

Dayton police and fire crews found Ellington’s body along the west bank of the river, just downstream from a low dam near the 900 block of Riverside Drive. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office was able to identify her, and is investigating her cause of death, according to the Dayton Police Department.

Ellington’s vehicle also was found, police said.

Foul play is not suspected in Ellington’s death, however, police said they are continuing to investigate how she came to be in the river.
