3 who fled from traffic stop near Atrium Medical Center remain at-large

UPDATE @ 11:45 a.m.:

Troopers were unable to locate three male suspects who fled Tuesday night following a traffic stop on I-75 near Exit 32, according to the Lebanon Post of the State Highway Patrol.

Several of the troopers and Middletown police officers who responded Tuesday night had been at Middletown’s National Night Out at Lefferson Park and Berachah Church.

Throughout the search, troopers and officers parked their vehicles along Ohio 122, in the Atrium Medical Center parking lot, and on Union Road.

Canine officers were seen searching a grassy area near the hospital’s entrance. Troopers also had their weapons out.

UPDATE @ 2:20 a.m. Aug. 8: 

State troopers are searching for three male suspects who ran after crashing a stolen vehicle near Atrium Medical Center, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers spotted the suspects near Knollbrook and Gatewood drives in Franklin, northern Warren County, about  10:50 p.m. Tuesday, but lost sight of the group, according to scanner traffic.

Troopers were still searching the area early Wednesday morning with K-9s, but have since concluded the search, according to the state patrol.

The incident remains under investigation.

UPDATE @ 10:21 p.m.: 

Atrium Medical Center was on lockdown for several hours during the search for the subject who crashed a stolen vehicle near the medical center,  according to an Atrium spokeswoman.

There were no safety threats inside the hospital, and there was controlled access in and out of the building, the spokeswoman said. The hospital’s Emergency Trauma Center continues to remain operational for patients.

State troopers are still searching for the suspect, according to Ohio State Patrol.

Atrium’s campus police are continuing to work with area law enforcement on the investigation and all safety precautions needed outside near the hospital, the spokeswoman said.

INITIAL REPORT:

State troopers were pursuing a stolen vehicle on I-75 before the driver crashed on OH-122 near the Atrium Medical Center.

State troopers and Middletown Police K-9 officers are currently searching for the male subject who fled on foot, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lebanon Post.

This incident first occurred around 6:30 p.m.
